Grimm’s fragile skin torn
The fresh wound at the top of the image is where his skin tore. The wound below that is the original wound he arrived with. The white material covering the wound is silvadene cream which protects that underlying tissue and sooths pain.
Tragically he continued to develop new wounds when he bumped against things or pushed too hard during shedding. We were able to minimize the damage by developing no restratint techniques for moving him and administering medications. With extreme caution we were eventually able to protect him and keep new wounds from occurring. This video shows the severity of some of the wounds he developed in those initial days. They were so bad we considered euthansia but his spirit seemed to say he was strong enough to heal this, and heal he did.
