Jessie came to Snake Haus East from the local humane society. They had accepted Jessie when the owners needed to rehome her due to a new human baby coming into the house, but the humane society didn’t really have the equipment or the knowledge to keep a snake. Since Nicky is also closely involved in that organization as well, naturally they reached out to her for help.
Jessie was obtained by the first owners as a baby, but they didn’t really know what to expect from a sand boa so she did not get handled very much during her “childhood” and is, consequently, very apt to bite, repeatedly for no good reason. We know that this is just because she is scared and are working with her trying to gain her trust, but she will likely never be super comfortable with people.
